Impacting Remote Alaska with the Hope of Jesus Christ through Mission Aviation
Across the vast roadless wilderness of Alaska are hundreds of isolated villages where Americans live in third-world conditions. The rich native culture has been overwhelmed by rampant alcoholism, teen suicide, joblessness, and spiritual darkness.
The inhospitable terrain, depressing isolation, high cost of living, inadequate housing, bitter weather, and winter darkness only serve to compound the rapidly changing cultural standards.
Fostering true change is difficult for many villages due to the lack of connecting roads. Exposure and access to Christian influence and care is likewise limited and sadly, women and children are affected the most.
Less than 100 villages have any established evangelical church, pastor, or missionary presence, and many have no followers of Jesus Christ. When there is a pastor or missionary in the village, they are also isolated and cutoff from the normal spiritual and support networks typically afforded other Christian workers.
Pastors and missionaries in village churches are fighting an uphill battle to share Christ in meaningful ways to an increasingly hard-to-reach population.
Missionary Aviation Repair Center (MARC) has provided a lifeline of hope to these villages, strengthened the ministry of Christians, and expanded the reach of the Gospel across the Alaskan frontier since 1964.
Today, MARC has a fleet of airplanes that fly throughout western Alaska and even across the Bering Sea into eastern Russia. We provide affordable transportation services, training, and quality airplane maintenance for mission organizations through our own internal staff of missionary families who raise their own financial support to serve with MARC. We're privileged to serve God here.

Proclaim Aviation Ministries is a non-denominational Evangelical Christian based non-profit ministry that melds our passion for aviation with the desire to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ available to every person. The purpose of Proclaim Aviation Ministries is to assist missionary candidates from the commencement of their aviation training to ultimately utilizing their aviation skills to serve overseas with a Christian Mission and spread the Gospel of Christ to those in remote areas of the world.
The Redeemed Flying Corps was created to assist in equipping pilots and mechanics for the mission field with the needed training and attributes required. This is done by intentional spending time with the students, reducing the cost of flight training and removing the debt that is associated with receiving all needed ratings and flight time.
SMAT exists to glorify God by providing professional aviation training to a high standard that equips individuals to serve God and others through aviation. This is done in a Christ-centered environment with mission-focused 12-month aviation training programs in both aviation maintenance and flight.
For a missionary aviation candidate, the technical training for flight and maintenance skills is sometimes the simplest part of his/her overall required preparation to serve. Many other factors emerge along the journey to serving fulltime in missionary aviation. These factors are equally as vital and, if not addressed properly, can be disqualifying. At SOAR, we are committed to addressing these factors with our comprehensive approach in preparing missionary candidates allowing them to transition directly to their future mission aviation sending agency. Our seamless pathway to missions along with practical maintenance and flight experience is supported by a financial model that avoids debt. Debt can frequently delay or derail those trying to get to the mission field. As we like to say, "It's from SOAR to the Mission Field!".
